There are a lot of places in the United States that I wouldn’t mind living. I’m a big fan of warmer climates. I don’t particularly love having to knock ten inches of snow and ice off of my car when I get up for work in the morning and then have to wonder if I’m going to get to work first of slide of the road and die first. I guess that kind of rules out Buffalo, New York as well as Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, and all of those other midwest tropical paradises. I think that Florida would be a nice option. You would probably have to deal with the added expense of having hurricane insurance, but that cost would be offset by the fact that there is no state income tax.
Texas would also be a great option, maybe some Lake Conroe real estate a little ways outside of Houston. Lake Conroe real estate also happens to be in a state with no state income tax. Way to go, Texas. Why can’t my state get by without taking five percent of my money every year? I don’t know, but it sure is making that Lake Conroe real estate option look attractive.
